About Us :
In the year 1868, Rev. James Emlyn from New Castle, U.K. an LMS
missionary bought the lands where the college is located now. Rev.
Robert Sinclair, who succeeded Rev. Emlyn in the year 1910, built a
bungalow and started a Boarding School on the campus measuring 32 acres

Scholarships :
The Management and the Governments, both State and the Central, have
come forward to help students in their study in various forms.
Eligibility conditions are announced as and when needed through notices
to the students. Forms will be issued to students at the College Office
in time. These scholarships and concessions should be applied for only
after the students pay the first semester fees in full and enroll in the
college. Scholarship and fee concession holders must secure 75 % of the
attendance, failing which they run the risk of losing these
scholarships and concessions.
Facilities :
Library :
The library Block is named after Rev. James Emlyn, an LMS Missionary
from U.K. who purchased lands where Nesamony Memorial Christian College
is built. The library is a fairly large one with a collection of about
53355 volumes in all disciplines. The library regularly subscribes to 11
dailies, and more than 65 standard journals in almost all subjects
besides general periodicals in Tamil, English and Malayalam. The general
reading room can accommodate nearly 100 readers at a time. Separate
reference section is maintained for the benefit of the Post Graduate
students and researchers. Library automation facility is avilable. Open
access is given to over all students. The Library is kept open on all
working days from 9.15 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. During vacation the library
will be kept open on all Wednesdays.
Women’s Hostel :
The women’s Hostel, partially Sponsored by University Grants Commission
(UGC), New Delhi, started functioning in the Campus from the academic
year 2009 – 2010 onwards. Any girl student of this college is eligible
to join the hostel. The hostel is well furnished with triple seater
rooms. A mess is run by the hostel authorities on dividing system. An
establishment fee of Rs.3000/- per semester is collected from each
inmate.
Fine Arts and Youth Welfare Club :
The Fine Arts and Youth Welfare Club has been functioning very
effectively in the college for the past two decades. The aim of the club
is to tap the talents that, very often, remain dormant in a student and
to help him/her develop them. Some of the students have a flair for
fine arts and they are encouraged to participate in various competitions
so that they can mould their personality. The club congratulates those
students who have brought many a laurel to the institution competing in
various programmes conducted by the University and other organizations.
Relax and Rejuvenate :
Table Tennis in NMCC There are facilites for the following games.
Football, Volleyball, Tennis, Shuttle Cock, Ball Badminton, Cricket,
Tennikoit and Throw Ball. Training is given for all atheletic events.
There are faclities for indoor games like Table-Tennis, Chess, Caroms.
Intro-mural tournaments are conducted by the college. Inter-Collegiate
tournaments are organized by the University. The college teams also
participating in the events conducted by other organizations locally and
at the district level.
Students for all classes with aptitude and interest are always
welcome to use the facilities for sports and games in the college.
Campus Placement :
The placement cell conducts Student Support Programmes that enhances
their chances for a smooth transition from a student to an executive.
The placement cell holds training for the final year students to
fine-tune presentation techniques and network with the industry leaders
to provide them with the opportunity to find a suitable placement. The
placement cell has been successful in bringing some organizations to the
campus and gets the best students placed.
